This authentic Indian restaurant offers a delightful journey through the vibrant flavors of South Indian cuisine, showcasing dishes that are both rich in tradition and infused with love. Located at 120 3 Ave, Kamloops, BC V2C 2M3, Madras Masala & Grill is a favorite among locals and visitors alike, offering a warm and inviting atmosphere for all.
As you step inside, the aroma of spices fills the air, drawing you into a world of tantalizing tastes. From the Tandoori dishes, expertly marinated and charbroiled in a traditional clay oven, to the comforting soups that embrace the palate, each dish is a masterpiece. Must-try dishes include the Tandoori Chicken, which is marinated in yogurt and spices, delivering a juicy and tender experience, and the Chicken Tikka, a richly flavored favorite among patrons.
One standout item has to be the goat biryani. As one customer noted, it’s “a dish that often shows how good a cook is at using spices and rice together.” Madras Masala & Grill nails this with its perfect balance of flavors, ensuring each bite resonates with a melody of spices and well-cooked rice. Enhancing the meal experience are the charming kids’ specialties, such as Cheese and Chocolate Dosas, that entice younger diners for just CA$8.99.
Moreover, the atmosphere is complemented by friendly and attentive service that makes you feel right at home. Guests have praised the staff, highlighting their commitment to customer satisfaction. In fact, one diner expressed, “Special thanks to Rachel for her friendly and excellent service.” Such personal touches add to the overall enjoyment, making it ideal for family gatherings or special occasions, including celebrated events like Mother’s Day.
To wash down all that deliciousness, you can't miss the mango drinks or the famed Filter coffee, each refreshing and authentically prepared. The menu’s wide range of options ensures that every visit can be unique and satisfying, whether you are seeking the comfort of a flavorful soup or the fiery thrill of a traditional curry.
In essence, Madras Masala & Grill is not just a restaurant; it's an experience that brings the essence of Indian culture to your table. “ Friendly and tentative service. Food is flavorful and cooked with love. One of the tastiest mango drinks. We had the masala goat and butter chicken with butter and garlic naan. ”
“ I've worked in Chennai for 3 years and this place really brought back all the good memories which I had from Chennai. Really good restaurant and really good staff. “ Had a great experience at Madras Masala and Grill! The food was very tasty and the quantity was good too. Special thanks to Rachel for her friendly and excellent service. Will definitely visit again! ”
“ Went here for Mother's day lunch with my family. The staff were kind and helpful, the food was amazing and the atmosphere was great. I would highly recommend this business as one of the best in the city. Thank you for a wonderful experience. ”
“ My latest find, Madras Masala & Grill, has quickly become my new favorite place to eat since I am always looking for new and delicious foods. The first time I experienced how good their food was, I ordered their goat biryani. It is a dish that often shows how good a cook is at using spices and rice together, and Madras Masala & Grill does a great job with this one. The biryani was a wonderful mix of tastes that danced on the tongue from the first bite. There were no worries about skimping on the meat because the goat was soft, juicy, and served in large portions. Each grain of rice carried a different mix of spices. It was perfectly cooked and smelled like a meal out of this world. The experience was so enjoyable that it made me want to go to the restaurant by myself for dinner. There is something special about eating by yourself and focusing only on the flavors before you. Madras Masala & Grill was the right place to do just that. Once more, the meat was the main attraction. ”
“ Just so you know, you have to be patient to get your food delivered. They were not too busy but in my opinion because they cook from mostly scratch, it took time. The garlic naan was amazing and I like some parts of it was crunchy. The food was amazing! Curry leaves that they put in my dish, ooh love it! The portion was a liotle bit small for me specially the rice, but that because I was hungry and I am an asian ;). Overall, this place is very recommended! ”
“ If you haven’t eaten here yet, you are missing out! Best Indian food around! My family has been going weekly since we discovered this gem downtown Kamloops! Amazing food, friendly staff, good pricing, super clean - chef’s kiss!! My favourite - Mutter Paneer in creamy cashew sauce... soooo good! ”
“ Absolute gem. The staff was lovely and the dishes were so lovingly made. Will be coming back again and again ”
